My First Award(s)

I received my first award today from Katherine, over at Blessed to Teach. Thank you Katherine, that was so sweet of you!
This award is named for the german word "Liebster", which translates to  "beloved" or "favorite" and is given to a "new, up and coming blogger".

Here are the rules:
1. Link back to person who gave it to you
2. Post the award to your blog.
3.Give the award to at least 5 bloggers with less than 200 followers.
4.Leave a comment on the five blogs to let them know that they have been offered the award.

Not only did I receive one award, I received TWO! So here is the next award. I received this from Amy at Adventures in Teaching, by the way I love that blog name, so cute!

This award has a little more work to it than the first one.

Versatile Blogger Award:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you.
2. Include a link to their site.
3. Include the award image in your post.
4. Give 7 random facts about yourself.
  • I am in love with The Beatles. It's true, I have a collection of Beatles memorabilia and I keep adding to it. My favorite Beatles is George Harrison.
  •   I love to be crafty. I have three Cricuts!! I love making cards, scrapbook layouts, and things for my classroom.
  • I am obsessed with owls. Anything that has an owl on it, you know I will be buying! I went to Pottery Barn kids just to buy my new lunch box this year and yes it does have owls all over it.
  • I am secretly still a kid at heart, but aren't we all? I love watching Disney movies, coloring, and singing children's songs. It's a good thing I went into teaching. Now I have an excuse, hehe!
  • I can't go without painting my toe nails. Even in the winter when my toes never make an appearance, I have to have them painted. When I have time and I'm not too lazy, I like to match my pedicure with my manicure. I will change them every week depending on my mood. Once I did zebra print when we took a field trip to the zoo. We had a vote in my class to see if I would do zebra or cheetah, zebra won. ;-)
  • My car has to be spotless. I cannot stand driving in a car that has trash all over it. It doesn't bother me if it's not my car, but I'm a very organized person and I tend to loose things easily. Hence the reason why I have to be organized. So keeping my car clean is just one less worry. Now if only I could keep my classroom as clean...
  • I've actually been blogging since 2009, but I never felt confident enough to share it with anyone. Now I figured, why not it's fun!

  2. Thanks so much for the awards! I am a Cricut newbie, so I'm learning a lot! My babysitter actually GAVE me her old one (the one that does 6"x12"), which was awesome, because I really had no idea about them. Now I LOVE IT! I made all my son's birthday decorations/banners with it, and they turned out awesome. Do you have a recommendation for a good font cartridge? I want to cut out some vinyl letters/phrases, mainly for my classroom. :)

Thanks again, and I'm your newest follower! Oh, and I love your blog design!

Magic Answer (Flip Chute)

Don't we all just love Pinterest? I know I do! I have been wanting to implement math centers into my routine this year and I slowly want to teach my students games that can one day be part of their math centers. I am currently working on a math fluency "program" (future post) and I knew that I wanted math facts to be a big part of my math centers. I saw this flip chute on pinterest and I thought it was perfect. I went ahead and made one of my own. It was actually pretty easy. There is a video on Classroom DIY, but I decided to do a more step-by-step video. You can see that video here. I also  made a template in word that you can go ahead and type your questions and answers into. Click the photo to visit my TPT where you can download the template for free.

3-2-1 Teacher Bio {Weekend Warriors}

I am linking up with Weekend Warriors to let you know a little bit about myself. I love getting to know other teachers and thought this would be a fun way to do it.   1. I love being a teacher and I have wanted to be one every since I was a little girl. I even turned my closet into a classroom and taught my sister and gave her homework to do. Even when she was done playing with me I would continue to play teacher by myself and my Barbies. If you peak into my classroom I am always with my students. I am either sitting on the floor with them reading a story, sitting at their tables during math time, and even dancing during Go Noodle with them. I love my job and being able to be a kid at heart 7 hours a day is pretty awesome!! 2.  I absolutely love center time. I love making and creating fun and engaging centers for my students and this year I am even going to add an additional math center time. This is a time where my students get to unwind a little, have some fun, ...

Show and Tell Wednesday

I'm excited to announce that I am starting a new link up. It is called Show and Tell Wednesday. Every Wednesday I will be hosting a linky party. This is a place where you can share anything you would like. All you have to do is write a blog post about something you would like to share and tell us about it. It can be something from your TPT store, an activity that you did in your class, or anything else school/teaching related. I always love learning new things from fellow teachers and I'm always searching for new ideas. Here are a few rules for the link up. Become a follower of my blog. This is not necessary, but occasionally I will be doing giveaways and in order to be considered for the giveaway, you must be a follower. Also, you don't want to miss anything in the future! :-) Add the Show and Tell button on your blog post that you link up. Visit the person before your link and leave them some thoughtful feedback. Have fun!!!!  Here is my show and tell for the week. School...
