January 2015 Currently

It's been a long time since I've linked up with Farley for a monthly currently. I have been somewhat out of the blog scene for a while and with my new blog name, I figured this new year would be a great restart.

Listening: Currently I am in my craft room/office. It is in the front of the house so I hear all of the cars driving by. I am also sitting next to my portable heater and dachshund Pippin because it is FREEZING in my house!

Loving: I am loving the fact that I am on winter break. This school year has been... different. it took a while to get in the swing of things, but now I'm loving it! I can't wait to see what the rest of the year has planned for me and my students!

Thinking: There are so many things that I want to get done before I go back to work. Things for work, personal things, things around the house, and I still want to get some more relaxation time in too! Is it summer yet. ;-)

Wanting: To be warmer. My room is the coldest in the house and that means that I have my portable heater as well as the house heater on and I am still freezing. Did I mention I live in AZ and I shouldn't be complaining about the cold? I don't know how you people that live in snow do it!

Needing: I really need to go to the grocery store. We probably haven't been in 3 weeks. It's been rough guys. We've been creating some really "unique" creations from what we have in the house. I need motivation to brave the cold and the crowds that are probably preparing for New Years.

Yes: This year I am determined to be more healthy. Yes, I am going to work out more, but my main goal is eating healthy. I plan on trying out new recipes and eventually be able to pull from recipes that I like in order to meal plan. Meal planning/grocery shopping Sundays are my goal for this year.

Maybe: It's been a while since I've blogged regularly on my blog and even longer since I've really participated in the teaching community and I have to say, I've really missed it. I recently moved from 2nd grade to kindergarten and that took a while to get used to, but now I feel at home. I have so many ideas for my blog and TPT that I hope... maybe I will get back into it, at least by the summer.

I wish: I wish I lived in California so I could have an annual pass to Disneyland, no joke! I watch Disney vlogs on YouTube and know everything there is to know about Disneyland. Only problem is, I've only been there 3 times in my lifetime and I only live 6 hours away. It's so close, but yet so far! I will be going for my 30th birthday in December 2015, so excited!!!

Good luck with getting everything done before you head back to work...we are doing the same thing over here! Also, I love your wishes! I might wait a year to start meal planning though...even thinking about it is overwhelming. haha. Good luck with it! Happy New Year!

  3. I completely agree about the meal planning and how weird this year has been! It's been really hard to get into it. Hopefully we can take these last few days to get back into the groove for Monday!! Happy last couple days of break! <3

Magic Answer (Flip Chute)

Don't we all just love Pinterest? I know I do! I have been wanting to implement math centers into my routine this year and I slowly want to teach my students games that can one day be part of their math centers. I am currently working on a math fluency "program" (future post) and I knew that I wanted math facts to be a big part of my math centers. I saw this flip chute on pinterest and I thought it was perfect. I went ahead and made one of my own. It was actually pretty easy. There is a video on Classroom DIY, but I decided to do a more step-by-step video. You can see that video here. I also  made a template in word that you can go ahead and type your questions and answers into. Click the photo to visit my TPT where you can download the template for free.

3-2-1 Teacher Bio {Weekend Warriors}

I am linking up with Weekend Warriors to let you know a little bit about myself. I love getting to know other teachers and thought this would be a fun way to do it.   1. I love being a teacher and I have wanted to be one every since I was a little girl. I even turned my closet into a classroom and taught my sister and gave her homework to do. Even when she was done playing with me I would continue to play teacher by myself and my Barbies. If you peak into my classroom I am always with my students. I am either sitting on the floor with them reading a story, sitting at their tables during math time, and even dancing during Go Noodle with them. I love my job and being able to be a kid at heart 7 hours a day is pretty awesome!! 2.  I absolutely love center time. I love making and creating fun and engaging centers for my students and this year I am even going to add an additional math center time. This is a time where my students get to unwind a little, have some fun, ...

Show and Tell Wednesday

I'm excited to announce that I am starting a new link up. It is called Show and Tell Wednesday. Every Wednesday I will be hosting a linky party. This is a place where you can share anything you would like. All you have to do is write a blog post about something you would like to share and tell us about it. It can be something from your TPT store, an activity that you did in your class, or anything else school/teaching related. I always love learning new things from fellow teachers and I'm always searching for new ideas. Here are a few rules for the link up. Become a follower of my blog. This is not necessary, but occasionally I will be doing giveaways and in order to be considered for the giveaway, you must be a follower. Also, you don't want to miss anything in the future! :-) Add the Show and Tell button on your blog post that you link up. Visit the person before your link and leave them some thoughtful feedback. Have fun!!!!  Here is my show and tell for the week. School...
