Christmas Time

The holidays are just around the corner, but I am finally on winter break! What did we do in December you may ask? Well I will show you. :-)

 We decorated a Christmas tree with ornaments that went home as parent gifts.


We got an elf named Kristoff who shared many laughs with us.

 

  

  

  

  

He even became the topic of many stories in our classroom. 
 "We have an elf. I can't believe that elf is actually here. Oh my gosh!"

We had a Grinch day complete with Grinch hats! It also happened to be my birthday which was awesome in itself.
 

We studied reindeer and had a reindeer week. We also made root beer floats!
 

We had a spirit week and one of the days was ugly sweater day, but my favorite was DISNEY DAY!!!

 

I rearranged the back of my room to make a second teaching area.

Monday Made It Planner Stickers

Today I am linking up for Monday Made It. It is my first time this summer. This summer has flown by and I can't believe that I only have one more week left until meetings and two weeks until I meet my new kindergarten students. Since the school year is sneaking up on me, I am in creative mode and crafting up a storm. As teachers, I feel like we all have something in common... a love for planning. Before Pictures

Many people that walk into my classroom think that it is such a clean and organized room. Clean... yes. Organized... NO WAY!! Here is what everyone sees my classroom as... I love my room and I spent a lot of time rearranging it to make it fit my needs as well as my students' needs. It is a very functional classroom, aside from the organizational piece that is missing. Today I am going to share with you my "secrets". Are you ready for them? I must say that they aren't pretty. Be warned, you are about to see my BEFORE photos.   This area looks fairly organized, except for the fact that I don't use ANY of it. I ocassionally lift up the fabric to get the students' reading books and a binder here and there, but other than that, these shelves are taking up prime real estate.   One of my few cabinets that lock is filled with supplies that don't need to be locked up.  Math centers that have never been used because I still have no clue how I want to organize them. ...

Team Member Gifts

Happy Monday! Today is my last day of summer vacation. I have meetings this week, but I am going in today to have a team meeting with my wonderful kindergarten team. This year I am team lead and I wanted to share my appreciation with some beginning of the year gifts. Teaching all day can be tiring and at the end of the day it's not unusual for some of us to forget to drink water. I have two HUGE water cups that I bring to work every day, but it never hurts to have more. I added vinyl to these mason jar cups for my team mates. Hopefully we will all stay hydrated this school year. The next part of their gift are some goodies from my favorite place... Target!! I just packaged up some of my favorite dollar spot finds and closed it up with some washi tape. This past week I went into my classroom and set everything up.
